Education & Skills
The past decade has been a busy one! I’ve been building new skills both for my own enjoyment and to test out new possible career options. I’ve listed recently completed coursework done online, my favorite courses completed during my BS in Justice Studies, and an assortment of skills I’ve acquired from self-directed learning.
Recent Courses Completed
All the courses listed here were completed online between 2012 and 2024. While most were self-paced, some included live sessions with assigned student cohorts and active online communities.
I selected these courses intentionally to support my broader learning goals. I create a personalized curriculum when I dive into a specific topic (creative nonfiction, online marketing, meditation, or instructional design). To stay motivated and engaged, I like to use a variety of resources for learning – online courses, carefully chosen books, conversations with experts, and hands-on projects. The projects and assignments are either self-designed or included in my chosen learning materials. I find taking action, being immersed in experience, and making useful mistakes provides the richest playground for my brain.
